Dear MargaretWe discovered the Blueberry sign along the road and actually had to turn back to buy some of your fruit. Glad we did because they were the best blueberries ever!We ate a whole kg with milk that evening in the motel.
And here is another benefit of blueberries you can add to the health information. (see below)
Thanks for all the work you are putting into the blueberry garden.
So sorry we are living in far away Cairns...we would come regularly to buy your fruit.
Greetings from Uta and Eddie
Include This ‘Superstar’ Fruit to Build Your Bones
Nutrition by Vivian Goldschmidt, MA .
In the summertime, there’s nothing I love more than a refreshing fresh fruit salad, heaped with all my favorites and topped with a dollop of plain yogurt. Absolute heaven! And adding blueberries – one of the most popular fruits in North America – is more than just a deliciously sweet indulgence, because they can also help you increase your bone density.
Build Your Bones with Blueberries
If you are following the "Save Our Bones Program", you know that polyphenols – an important class of antioxidants found in many fruits – have been shown to help increase bone density. So chances are you won’t be surprised about a recent study results linking blueberries to an increase in bone strength and density.

Dear MargieMy son and I were looking for accommodation late one cold Friday night and after inquiries at the Owhango Hotel, which had no vacancies, we were directed across the road to Marahua Blueberry farm.
We drove up the long, winding tree lined driveway in what felt like the middle of nowhere with a little trepidation, my son said it felt like a horror movie as, apart from the car's headlights, we were in total blackness.
We were immediately put at ease by the warm welcome of Margie, the cats and the cosy homestead. Inside the flickering flames from the fire warmed the room and our beds upstairs looked very inviting.
In the morning we opened the curtains to see the most picturesque scene. There was a heavy frost coating the field and trees in white and there right outside were 4 gorgeous sheep, a group of beautiful black hens and 2 wild bunnies. What a picture for two city dwellers! Needless to say we had a wonderful ski weekend enhanced by Margie's friendly hospitality.
It was a pleasure to return back after a strenuous day's skiing. Hot showers, a delicious pub meal from Owhango Hotel across the road, as well as home made tasty blueberry pancakes for breakfast cooked by Margie. We didn't want to leave Marahua!
We will be recommending it to friends and family in Auckland, a perfect weekend getaway!
Thank you, Margie we will be coming back!
